About us
The Intercultural Development Research Association is an independent, non-profit organization. Our mission is to achieve equal educational opportunity for every child through strong public schools that prepare all students to access and succeed in college. We are committed to the IDRA valuing philosophy, respecting the knowledge and skills of the individuals we work with and build on the strengths of the students and parents in their schools. Through its history IDRA has been a vocal advocate for the right of every student to equality of educational opportunity. IDRA was founded in 1973 by Dr. José A. Cárdenas, was directed by Dr. María “Cuca” Robledo Montecel until Jan 2019, and today is directed by Celina Moreno, J.D. IDRA strengthens and transforms public education by providing dynamic training; useful research, evaluation, and frameworks for action; timely policy analyses; and innovative materials and programs. IDRA's professional staff members… Are fluent and literate in English and Spanish. • Have many years of classroom, administrative, and community engagement experience. • Have graduate degrees – master's and doctorates – from respected universities. • Are skilled trainers, accustomed to designing and implementing top-notch workshops.
